LEIMUN: A NON-PROFIT CORPORATION
LEADERSHIP
The Lake Erie International Model United Nations Corporation is administered by a 5-member Board of Trustees. The Trustees have taken on the conference planning and operating responsibilities formerly handled by Dr. Hammond and Kent State University, as well as taking on the responsibilities of operating the non-profit corporation. Trustee are Gold Members of the corporation, who are elected by the Gold and Silver Members, to 3-year terms on a rotating basis.
Each year, the Trustees elect three individuals to serve in the corporate offices of President, Chief Administrative Officer, and Chief Financial Officer. From time to time, they may also elect individuals to serve as Chairman, Vice President, Assistant Chief Administrative Officer, Assistant Chief Financial Officer, or other positions as necessary. Individuals need not be LEIMUN Members or Trustees to serve as a corporate officers, though it is preferred.
Following each Northcoast Conference, the Trustees elect one staff member to serve as Secretary-General and five staff members to serve as Corporate Directors. The Secretary-General is primarily responsible for administering the conferences. The Directors are responsible for specific organizational areas - Research, Recruitment, Staff Development, Fund Raising, and Marketing & Communications. The Secretary-General serves for a term of roughly 16 months, from the conclusion of the 3rd Quarterly Meeting to the end of the following fiscal year, i.e. from March 2010 until July 2011. For the period from March until July, there will be two Secretaries-General. The Directors serve a 12 month term from the conclusion of the 3rd Quarterly Meeting to the end of the following 3rd Quarterly Meeting, i.e. from March 2010 to March 2011. Individuals need not be LEIMUN Members to serve in these positions, though it is preferred. Trustees may not serve in these positions.
BOARD OF TRUSTEES & CORPORATE OFFICERS
Warren Matthew Buckey is a serving his second term on the Board of Trustees. He was elected in 2005 and was appointed to fill a vacant seat in 2009; he was reelected in 2009. Warren currently serves as our de facto Publishing Manager - designing conference brochures, programs, etc. Warren has previously served as both Vice President and President. Prior to his terms on the Board, Warren served the orgainzation in multiple conference positions including Secretary-General, on the Advisory Council, and on the Rules Revision Committee. Warren became involved with LEIMUN as a high school delegate in 1984. He became a staff volunteer upon graduation from high school. His current term ends in October 2012.
Warren is a graduate of Ashtabula's (now defunct) Harbor High School. He attended the Ohio State University where he earned a BA in Political Science and German Literature. He lives in Columbus, Ohio where he is a IT Systems Specialist for the Ohio State University.

Samantha Drew is currently serving her first term on the Board of Trustees. Samantha was elected in 2007. She serves as Registrar and previously served as Chief Administrative Officer. Prior to her term on the Board, Samantha served the organization in multiple conference positions, as a member of the Advisory Council and as the Director of Staff Development. Samantha became involved with LEIMUN as a high school delegate in 2000. She became a staff volunteer upon graduating from high school. Her term ends in October 2010.
Samantha is a graduate of Geneva High School. She earned a BA in Sociology from Carlow College and spent a year working for Ameri-Corps before earning her MPA in Non-Profit Management from the University of Akron.
CORPORATE DIRECTORS & SECRETARY-GENERAL
Shannon Hopkins is serving as the Secretary-General and her first term as Director of Staff Development. She has also served as Director of Recruitment. Prior to becoming a Corporate Director, Shannon served in several conference positions, including Under Secretary-General. She became involved with LEIMUN as a college delegate from Ohio Wesleyan University in 2005. She became a staff volunteer in 2007. Her term ends in March 2010.
Shannon is a graduate of Midview High School in Grafton, Ohio. She attended Ohio Wesleyan University where she earned a BA in Politics & Government. She currently lives in Willoughby, Ohio where she is vetting law schools and working towards becoming a writer.
MJ Carrabba is serving his first term as Director of Research. Prior to becoming a Corporate Director, MJ chaired several conference committees. He became involved with LEIMUN as a high school delegate from Butler High School where he was one of the initial members of the Delegate A-Team. He became a staff volunteer immediately upon graduation in 2007. His term ends in March 2010.
MJ is a graduate of Butler High School in Butler, Pennsylvania. After spending a year at Case Western Reserve University, MJ is now attending Stetson University in Deland, Florida. He is studying political science, history, and economics while acting as a teaching and research assistant and being active in Model UN, Model Senate and Stetson College Republicans.
Marc Hudson is serving his first term as Director of Fund Raising. Prior to becoming a Corporate Director, Marc served in wide variety of chairing roles and is the driving force behind the Dual Crisis Committees at our Lake Erie Conference. He became involved within LEIMUN as a junior high school delegate in 2000. He became a staff volunteer upon graduation, while he was also has Under Secretary for Delegate Development for Miami University's team and Vice President for SUNY Geneseo's team. His term ends in March 2010.
Marc is a graduate of Jefferson Area High School in Jefferson, Ohio. He attended several universities before earning his BA in History from SUNY Geneseo. Marc lives in Jacksonville, Alabama where he works as the Accreditation Coordinator for the Alabama Georgia Land Trust.
Steven Johnston is serving his first term as Director of Recruitment. Prior to becoming a Corporate Director, Steve served in a wide variety of charirng roles. He became involved with LEIMUN as a high school delegates from Jefferson Area High School. He became a staff volunteer upon graduation, attending conferences whenever he could get leave from military service. His term ends in March 2010.
Steve is a graduate of Jefferson Area High School in Jefferson, Ohio. He served in the United States Coast Guard for 8 years, both in domestic and foreign billets, including a tour in Iraq. Steve is currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree from Kent State University while operating Marine Assist, a marine rescue service on Lake Erie.
