MEMBERSHIP ACTIVITIES

QUARTERLY MEETINGS

Quarterly Meetings are open to all LEIMUN Members and are held at 12:00noon on the following dates. If any of these dates falls on a legal holiday, the meeting will be held exactly one week later. Notice of meetings will occur thirty days prior to the meeting.

  • The second Saturday in July
  • During or within 14 days immediately following the Lake Erie Conference
  • The second Sunday in January
  • During or within 14 days immediately following the Northcoast Conference

The agenda of each meeting will include, but not be limited to the following. Any Member may petition the Board of Trustees to have an item placed on the agenda. Such petition must be received more than thirty days prior to the meeting.

ANNUAL MEETINGS

The Annual Meeting is open to all LEIMUN Members and is held at 12:00noon on the second Saturday in July. The written Annual Report will be made available at this meeting. The agenda of the meeting will include, but not be limited to the following. Any Member may petition the Board of Trustees to have an item placed on the agenda. Such petition must be received more than thirty days prior to the meeting.

VOTING & ELECTIONS

All LEIMUN Members may vote of any initiative placed before the Membership. The most common initiative is the bylaws amendment proposal. Passage of such amendments requires the affirmative vote of two-thirds of the Membership. Some recent proposals have included the possibility of changing the dates for Quarterly Meetings and lowering Membership dues.

All Silver and Gold Members may participate in Trustee elections. These elections are held in during the Lake Erie Conference each year. Depending on the year, either one or two Trustees will be elected. Silver and Gold Members may also participate in special Trustee elections, which occur whenever a seat on the Board of Trustees is vacated with more than twelve months remaining in the term.

MEMBERSHIP ACTIVITIES

All LEIMUN Members are entitled to participate in Membership Activities. These activities include Quarterly Meetings and the Annual Meeting, as well as voting and elections. Since its creation, LEIMUN has hosted in a number of other group activities. Members are able to attend these events either at discounted rates or free of charge, depending upon the event. Among these are staff parties both during and outside LEIMUN conferences, Summer Staff Parties, Summer Camping Weekends, Winter Staff Parties, LEIMUN Day with the Lake County Captains, LEIMUN Day with the Cleveland Indians, Casino Weekend in Niagara Falls, Regatta Weekend in New York, and Members Lunch during the Northcoast Conference.
