LAKE ERIE CONFERENCE XV
October 30 - November 2, 2008 Crowne Plaza Cleveland City Centre

WELCOME FROM THE SECRETARY-GENERAL
It is my distinct honor to welcome you to the Fifteenth Annual Lake Erie International Model United Nations' Lake Erie College Conference.
As a former delegate and student of international affairs, I am aware of the importance of having an understanding of our ever changing world. I am convinced that participating in Model United Nations provides a unique learning experience that enriches both the students' interpersonal communications skills and broadens their understanding of the international community.
Here, at LEIMUN, we like to pride ourselves on two unique attributes to our conferences. Our first attribute is that we provide a unique committee setting. Our small committee size provides the correct setting for delegates to increase participation while gaining the maximum attention from our staff - increasing the delegates' overall debating abilities, as well as their chances for success. Additionally, we provide a wide variety of committee types and topics. From the traditional Security Council to exotic ad hoc committees, we provide a multitude of thematic avenues for delegates to explore.
Our second attribute rests with the LEIMUN staff. Our staff is an assortment of individuals of all ages, which derive from distinct and diverse educational and personal backgrounds. However, we come together under LEIMUN's motto, in that we all work toward changing the world one conference at a time, to provide you with a conference and educational experience of the highest quality.
With that being said, it is my sincere hope that you attend our conference and that you will enjoy your time here. I look forward to meeting each and every one of you! Please feel free to address me at SG@LEIMUN.com with any questions or concerns that you may have about conference operations. It is my goal to provide you with a superior conference and educational experience.
Good Luck and Happy Debating!
Sincerely,
Danial A. Ramos Secretary-General
